The House
Since August 2006, Gamma Pi has occupied the third floor of Chesapeake Hall on Roanoke College's main campus, proudly displaying their letters out front. Here at Roanoke College, we don't have sorority houses but each sorority has their own floor in his building that they can customize with their own charm. The space is affectionately called "The Quad" because of the four floors, each of which houses a greek organization. Not only are all the floors in the same Panehllenic Building creating a close Greek Community, but they make a perfect hangout and study spot, especially during breaks on campus.
The chapter redecorated their interior two years ago. The housing features two common rooms, a kitchen, a laundry room and a chapter room, where members host weekly meetings. Gamma Pi also uses this space for collumnae events, chapter retreats, new member meetings, Big/Little reveal, Bids Day celebrations and other opportunities to bring the chapter together.
The 24 single rooms are all occupied by Gamma Pi sisters creating a community that nourishes stronger bonds of friendship and enhances the Delta Gamma experience. Home becomes redefined as this space fills with sisters who live here, usually for more than one year. There is comfort in being able to walk out of your room, knowing there is always someone on the couch ready for a late night food run or some early morning Dunkin'.
